The North Carolina Arboretum

Chimney Rock Park, Chimney Rock, NC

This privately-owned scenic attraction near Asheville, NC, offers spectacular 75-mile views from overlooks accessible to everyone by either stairways and bridges or a 26-story elevator built inside the mountain. There are 3.5 miles of hiking trails, a 404-foot waterfall, Nature Center, picnic areas, unique rock formations, rare plant life and more. You can get a feel for the incredible scenery found along the hiking trails in the Park by viewing the last 17 minutes of the movie, "The Last of the Mohicans" starring Daniel Day-Lewis and Madeleine Stowe.

GrandFather Mountain
Grandfather Mountain, a scenic travel attraction, is like a privately-owned national park. It is the highest peak in the Blue Ridge Mountain range and is known for incredible Mountain Scenery. At an elevation of 5,964 feet above sea level, Grandfather is one of the most rugged and majestic mountains in the East. It has been open to the public since the early 1900s and operated as a travel attraction since 1952.
