Our road maintenance strategy continues to
focus on two objectives:
- Maintenance
- Required improvements for safety and accessibility.
The topic again this year for our general
assembly was the section of Pinnacle Pkwy
what we call the call the concrete strip.
This has been in discussion since 2001.
The Board and the property owner at the 2007
general assembly has set a time limit of
six months to come up and rehash ideas and
solution to fix this area.
Over the next six months the road committee
will be posting their finds here.
Once finalize with the Board of Pinnacle
Mountain P.O.A from the road committees finds
and recommendations to fix this area it will
go out to property owners for a vote.
I thought it might be helpful if we first
look back at what has been done so far in
coming up with a solution. . I took these
from pass Board Minutes:
- July 14, 2001
Ronnie Styles will also begin investigation
into improving the steep section of the road
with the cement strip. Either the count or
the original road builders were suggested
as starting points. If we need to hire an
engineer to develop some options, the board
can approve funding as needed.
- October 13, 2001
Ron Styles reported that little has been
accomplished regarding maintenance of the
steep section of the road. Two firms have been contacted but have not shown
any real interest.
- March 9, 2002
Ronnie has agreed to contact the Rutherford
County road department for assistance in
recommending improvements to the steep concrete
strip section of Pinnacle Parkway.
- Our board views this section of our roads to be the most difficult and dangerous
to drive.
- 01/10/03
Board met with road engineer Michael Cooper
of Froehling and Robertson, Inc
He did not offer any useful solutions
- 07/2005
- Ron Maddox from the Road Committee presented
a draft From Apac that the members of the
road committee found to be the best solution
for this area. It was vote at the July 2005
Assembly to wait and see if prices went down
and to look at other alternates while we
wait.
