BURNING REGULATIONS
All burning on Pinnacle Mountain Association Properties must be done in accordance with North Carolina State Forestry Service regulations. Their office is located at:
519 Airport Road
Rutherfordton, North Carolina
For any questions regarding weather conditions that may limit outdoor burning, call the Forestry Service at (828) 286-9201. Any violations of the Forestry Service regulations are subject to fines from the organization.
In addition, the board has approved some additional requirements for the Property Association owners. CAMP FIRES must be set up in a cleared area and the burning area needs to be completely encircled by rocks. There must be adult supervision at any camp fire.
It is illegal to burn TRASH from construction sites because of the pollutants from the many different construction materials. The board strongly recommends that trash from construction work is hauled away rather than burned. If one elects to burn excess lumber scraps, it must be done in a metal barrel (container) with a lid that can smother the fire when burning is completed. There must be an available water supply at the construction site.
Since all of our properties are in a close vicinity to others, an uncontrolled fire can cause extensive damage. If that should occur, the person responsible for the source of the forest fire, can be held legally and financially responsible for the damage to all other properties.
Please return this signed statement with your payment of your annual dues so the board has a record that all property owners are aware of these regulations.
