Safety Committee


1st. Quarter Safety Report

October 14, 2008



1. Listed below is my safety related activity during the 1st Qtr of FY2009.

a) Queens Gap:
1. Presented Queens Gap with our safety agenda from the last general assembly meeting.
2. Response from Burt Baine - General Manager was favorable and he said he supports all our goals.
3. Burt has asked that I coordinate with their Construction Manager Jim Kiefner.
4. Next step is to "drill down" into each agenda item and implement procedures where required.

b) Rutherford County Emergency Response:
1. Contacted Ruth EMS coordinator.
2. Discussed best route to our mountain for emergency vehicles.
4. First line of defense by property owners.
5. Next step is to meet with Emergency Control Center -- Chris Tate
6. Conducted survey of 911 numbers for each house and prepared a report that lists which properties need 911 signs.
7. Started research on home firefighting - aqueous gel systems.

2. Issues for the Board of Directors:
a. What is the status of the association's newsletter?
b. Establish Safety budget for mail-outs, etc.
c. Input on prioritizing safety goals.
